My Favorite Place... Las Vegas

The City that Welcomes Everyone!

When people hear of the place Las Vegas they think of hardcore partying and gambling. (I am not going to lie and say that when I go to Las Vegas, I don't go out to enjoy the night-life and gambling.) There are so many enjoyable aspects to LasVegas that make this city my favorite place to visit.  You can see a variety of shows from very talented performers. I got to see Brittany Spears perform in Summer 2016. You can zip-line down Fremont Street. You can dine in diverse restaurants with cuisines from around the world by top chefs. BUT the city has, even more, to offer, a cultural experience. While I have never traveled outside of the United States when I have been in Las Vegas, I have met many different people from other countries. I was astonished to meet a couple from Finland on my first trip as an adult to Las Vegas. After that moment as we met different people around Las Vegas, we began to inquire where the people were originally from and what brought them to Sin City. It is amazing to learn about countries and cultures from people who are actually from that country. Las Vegas is a great city to learn about other countries when you can't travel outside of the United States.

  1. Ah, Las Vegas: an international place for fun... and gambling! As you will see in the Mahabharata, gambling and its risks are a big theme in the Indian epics; maybe you will want to do a Las-Vegas-inspired story for the big gambling match that is a critical turning point in the Mahabharata! :-)

  2. Ashley, this is an amazing post! It was really cool to see all of your personal photos rather than the usual stock images of Las Vegas that I have seen online. I have never been to Las Vegas, but I am hoping to visit in the next year or two with my sister, and I can't wait. What was your favorite casino and/or night venue?

  3. Hi Ashley! I love the title you chose for the post, it already drew me in before I started reading. That’s so cool that you can zip line in Vegas, I never knew that! I have been a few times but I am not a fan of heat so I all I do is complain the whole time I’m there. Your description of the place is lovely though!

  4. Hi again! I have never been to Las Vegas, but I have always wanted to go. It sounds that a super fun place with a lot to do. Zip lining down Fremont street looks cool, but was it not scary?! I definitely would be way too scared to do that! I also would have never thought that Las Vegas would be a cultural experience, but now that you point that out, I can definitely see it. Las Vegas is a big tourist attraction, so it makes since that people would come from all over the world. Great post!

  5. Hi again! I have also visited Las Vegas and have loved it! I went when I was about 11 and even then there was so much to do. I did not know that people could zip-line in Las Vegas, but I think that that is so cool and need to try it the next time I visit. I love the diverse cuisine that Las Vegas offers. Did you try any and if so, which was your favorite?
